1 Corinthians 11:1-34 addresses two main issues within the Corinthian church related to worship practices: the conduct of women in worship and the proper observance of the Lord's Supper. Paul begins by encouraging the Corinthians to follow his example as he follows Christ. He then discusses the importance of head coverings for women when praying or prophesying, emphasizing the need for maintaining proper decorum and respect in worship settings.

The latter part of the chapter focuses on the Lord's Supper, where Paul reprimands the Corinthians for their divisive and disrespectful behavior during this sacred meal. He reminds them of the true meaning of the Lord's Supper, recounting the institution of the practice by Jesus, and warns them to partake in a worthy manner. Paul calls for self-examination and discernment, urging the community to approach the Lord's Supper with reverence and unity, recognizing it as a proclamation of the Lord's death until He comes again.
